PCA DISTRIBUTION PLAN
In response to COVID-19, the Minnesota Legislature approved a temporary rate increase of 8.4% to begin tentatively on Dec. 1, 2020 and will be in effect until approximately February 7, 2021. This will be paid out to PCAs in the form of a one-time Covid-19 Hazard Payment on February 26th. Please read our complete PCA Distribution Plan below.
Access North is designated as a Covid Community Coordinator Organization
As a Covid Community Coordinator we are committed to supporting the people of northeastern Minnesota to get updated information on information related to Covid-19, especially people with disabilities, seniors and other vulnerable populations.
We anticipate the greatest focus in 2021 will be on accessing information on vaccinations and testing for Covid-19. Our staff are here to support you in identifying where and when vaccination and testing clinics are occurring, who is eligible and directly supporting you in online registration for vaccinations and testing. This pandemic has impacted people in so many different ways. The loss of jobs, the social isolation and the challenges faced with educating our children safely are only a few of the numerous challenges we all face. We are also your resource if you have questions on unemployment insurance, housing issues, food access, transportation, testing, vaccinations or general questions on Covid-19. If we don’t have an answer, we will get you to someone that does!
Just one example: here is a very informative video explaining the origins of the vaccines.
Please reach out to us for support on all things Covid at: Covidinfo@accessnorth.net or call us at (800) 390-3681.
If you are wondering when it will be your turn to get the vaccine, you can log onto the Connector website from the State of Minnesota. As vaccine supply increases and doses become more widely available, opportunities to get vaccinated will expand. On this website you can sign up to receive updates on your eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine and connect to vaccine opportunities in your area when they become available.
There is also a phone number to call if questions at the Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector hotline (833) 431-2053. Use the Find My Vaccine map to easily find the closest vaccination provider in your area. There is still a limited amount of vaccine, so appointments may not be available everywhere - but keep checking!
NOTICE: Due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, our WalMart Donation Program "Stores" in Hibbing and Walker will be closed indefinitely. We will let you know when this changes. Stay safe and healthy!
